He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Martin and Blanche Irvin Martin. He is survived by: his wife Janice McFarlin Martin; his sons, John E. Martin Jr. and Charlie Rich; his stepson James McFarlin; his daughters, Cindy Sherwood, Joni Schmidt, Lori Wilson and Caroline Lawrence; and his siblings, Butch Martin and Shirley Kirkessner. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Hartwell First Methodist Church (200 E Howell St, Hartwell, GA 30643). A reception will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church of Hartwell, 200 Howell Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
