He was predeceased by: his parents, Leiland Frances Mapp Sr. and Luta Ethelyn Merck Mapp. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Ann Gissy Mapp; his children, Lisa Aldridge (Dan) of Marrietta, John Mapp of Athens, Michelle Fitzpatrick (Johnny) of Cartersville, Kathy Janusek (Chris) of Cartersville and Michael Johnson (Monica) of Hoschton; and his grandchildren, Addy Aldridge and Reid Aldridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the local VFW located at 173 Ack Powell Road Hartwell, Ga. 30643.
