Mel leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mel’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Mel will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jame Loyd and Retha Lawson Loyd; his wife Ann Denney Loyd; and his daughter-in-law Cynthia Loyd. He is survived by: his children, Mike Loyd of Rose Hill, KS and Michele Pokora (Ed) of Middletown, OH; and his siblings, Jimmy Loyd, Billie Richardson and Georgetta Hoepker. He is also survived by four grandchildren & ten great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Arlington Memorial Park.
