He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Valintine Hammond and Marie Henrietta O'Neal Hammond; his former wife Jane Ellen Hammond; and his wife Elizabeth Oliver Hammond. He is survived by: his sons, Bo Hammond (Tonya) of Edmond and Randy Hammond (Loriane) of Orlando, Florida; his granddaughter Zoe; and his caregiver Cornelia Williams of Hawkinsville. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
