He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Connell and Mattie Mae Prickett Connell; his wife Bonnie Connell; and his son-in-law Chris Owens. He is survived by: his children, Marvin Connell (Angie) of Thomasville, Pennsylvania, Deborah Butler (Scott) of Hazlehurst, Tammy Renee Connell (Greg Terry) of Doerun and Angie Owens of McRae; and his grandchildren, Edward Rowland, Jason Rowland, Brad Owens, Ben Owens, Adam Owens, Breanna Waters, Katie Hudgens and Elizabeth Brand. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wainright Parlor Funeral Home (3 E Odum St, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (57 Oak Grove Church Rd, Hazlehurst, GA 31539).
