He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock Shipes and Mamie Lunnette Rogers Shipes; his wife Gloria Fay Hewett Shipes; and his sister Barbara Carter. He is survived by: his daughters, Dianne Adebayo (Seyi), Tina Bennett (Frankie) and Tammy Miller (Bobby); his grandchildren, Cortney McLendon, Seth McLendon (Kayia), Ethan Sellers, Brett Reffner (Lindsey), Jesse Miller, Devin Sellers (Cassie), Hannah Adebayo and Haylee Miller; his great grandchildren, Liam Bomar, Anakin Bomar, James Sellers, George McLendon, Fisher Hyder and Walker Hyder; his sister Jeanie Lewis (Larry); and his sons, Maverick and Shadow. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Oakland Baptist Church (187 Oakland Church Rd, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakland Baptist Church Children's Department for Mr. Bo's Candy Fund.
