He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Carter and Marrell Rentz Carter; and his wife Jacqueline Shae Morton Carter. He is survived by: his daughter Deidra Higgins (Josh) of Hazlehurst; his brother David Carter (Gayle) of Hazlehurst; his grandchildren, Trent Tanner, Logan Higgins (Allena), Alyssa Williams (Kole), Laini Higgins, Landon Higgins and Jaxton Higgins; and his sibling's children, Shannon Smith (John) and Scott Carter (Erin).
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hazlehurst First Methodist Church (41 S Tallahassee St, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
