We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2025, at the age of 76, Jerry Tillman Merritt (Hazlehurst, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his significant other Joyce (Joy); his parents, Alonza Merritt and Gladys Merritt; and his siblings, AC Merritt, Linnie Sue Bohannon and Clydie Faye Sickles.
He is survived by: his family, Jerry T. Merritt and Glory; his children, Wayne Merritt (Deana) of Fair Play, SC, Charlotte Merritt of Denton and Elizabeth Dunn (Chris Dunn) of Hawkinsville; his sister Cynthia McLoon (Hugh Kelly) of Hazlehurst; his grandchildren, Samantha Meritt, Lauren Merritt Cline (Luke) and Lexi Girtman (John); and his great grandchildren, Maddox Poma, Mattison Kate Dunn and Mackenna Joy Dunn.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wainright/Parlor Funeral Home (3 E Odum St, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Macedonia Church of God (17 W Georgia Ave, Denton, GA 31532).
