She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Chavis and Mary Kersey Chavis (Harry Neal); her son Sonny Hughes; and her siblings, Barbara Smith, Patsy Dyson, Virginia Griffin, Ann Davis, Sharon Gay, Bill Chavis and Glen Chavis.
She is survived by: her children, Timmy Hughes of Hazlehurst, Donnie Deen of Hazlehurst and Angie Everett (Steve) of Hazlehurst; her sisters, Peggy Dyal, Debra Dean and Pam Register (Terrell); and her grandchildren, Cody Everett, Maeghan Everett, Taylor Hughes, Zack Hughes, Tandra Hughes, TJ Hughes, Kyle Hughes, Kori Hughes, Sarah Hughes, Gracie Hughes, Hayden Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Chase Hughes and Aeriel Hughes. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home (3 E Odum St, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
