He was predeceased by: his parents, James Caffus Abernathy and Bonnie Beatrice Dean Abernathy. He is survived by: his children, Cassie Abernathy, Carrie Moore (Colby) and Scott Abernathy (Tonya); and his close friend Percy Spencer.
A reception was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Barrett Funeral Home (118 N Brooks St, Cleveland, GA 30528).
