She is survived by: her husband Thomas Powers; her children, Shannon Powers and Terrence Powers of Hepzibah, GA; her sisters, Ruby Wilhite of Bogart, GA, Mary Dorsey of Farmington, GA and Deborah (Richard Brown) of Farmington, GA; her grandsons, Tyree Powers, Zakai Washington and Jonah Purnell; her aunt Barbara Richardson of Eatonton; and her uncle Daniel Hunter of Athens, Georgia.. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home (1253 W Broad St, Athens, GA 30606). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (1340 Freeman Creek Rd, Bishop, GA 30621).
