With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Cooper Baxter Jr. of Hiawassee, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Cooper left this world on July 3, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Cooper Baxter Sr. and Mable Baxter; and his wife Lorraine Baxter. He is survived by: his children, Linda Parsons (Doug), Brian Baxter (Kari) and Sharon Pendergrass (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Chris Tienter (Lauren), Tanner Pendergrass, Bria Berge (Landon) and Rachel Parsons; his great grandchildren, Jett, Baby, Lindsey, Lejla, Cole and Blake; and also Pam Tienter (Brian). He is also survived by four children: Daughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home and Crematory Hiawassee Chapel (177 Rice St, Hiawassee, GA 30546). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mountain Grace Baptist Church Cemetery (1345 McDonald Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations for bibles can be made in his memory on the day of the service or by sending them to the church.
