He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Welborn and Hassie Welborn; his son Chuck Welborn; and his siblings, Norman, Raymond, Pete, Paul, Lovadia, Judy and Francis.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his children, Sandy Truett (Buster), Steve Welborn (Annie) and Barbara Martin; and his sister Diane. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gum Branch Baptist Church (8590 GA-196, Hinesville, GA 31313). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gum Branch Baptist Church building fund in "Pop's" name.
