With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Croker Gray of Hiram, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Edward Lee Croker (Effie Lee Fannin) and Effie Lee Fannin Croker; her son Paul Eugene Carter, III; and her brother David Croker. She is survived by: her daughter Chris Newbern (Stacy); her stepchildren, Tammy Johnson (Randy), Vicky Lollis, Kristy Hulen and Scott Gray (Adrienne); her grandchildren, Brandon Elrod (Jessica), Michael Elrod (Taylor), Amy Carr (Cody), Brad Sweet (Chelsey), Tyler King and Austin King; her great grandchildren, Owen Samanie-Elrod, Charlie Elrod, Blakely Voyles, Mason Stanley, Andrew Stanley, Landon Stanley, Bailey Carr, Chloe Carr, Knox King and Kalynne Gray; and her sisters, Eleanor Hayes and Loretta Walker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home (309 Hardee St, Dallas, GA 30132). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
