He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Wallace Wigley and Mary Lenora Parker Wigley; his wife Mary Ann Gober Wigley; his son Robert Wayne Melton; his brother Thomas Eugene Wigley; and his brother-in-law Raymond Scott.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Melton (Kathy) and Kitty Phillips (Charles); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Melton; and his siblings, Donald Wigley (Christine), David Wigley (Gail), Myra Scott, Martha Coker and Dilene Thompson (Charles). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren,; 23 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
