He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Clinton Rakestraw (Louise Elizabeth Roper) and Louise Elizabeth Roper Rakestraw; his wife Carol Rakestraw; and his brothers, Tyre Rakestraw, Bobby Rakestraw, Danny Rakestraw, Benny Rakestraw, Junior Rakestraw and Ansel Rakestraw.
He is survived by: his sons, Von Rakestraw (Jennifer) and Charles Lance Rakestraw; his grandchildren, Lakin Rakestraw, Ladd Rakestraw, Caroline Rakestraw, Cierra Rakestraw, Lana Purvis (Taylor), Lexie Lovett (Gabe), John Cohran and Justin Cohran; and his great grandchildren, Parker Purvis, Kalsyn Lovett and Kove Lovett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
