She was predeceased by: her parents, George Franklin Shutley and Cleo "Cappy" Satterfield Shutley; her husband William Sidney Brown; her grandson Eric Kuemmel; and her siblings, Valerie Knight and George Franklin "Butch" Shutley, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Thompson; her sister Jeanne; her brother-in-law David Bolden; and her grandson AJ Kuemmel. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and numerous special friends.
