He was predeceased by : his parents, Ed Collins, and Ruth Mae Clements Collins, Sr.; his wife Cora Mae Tillman Collins; his son Joey Dasher; and his siblings, Ann Merritt, Mattie Roberson, Ed Collins, Jr. and Gene Collins.

He is survived by : his daughter Joy; his son-in-law Elliot Pittman of Waycross; his sons, Johnny Collins (Darlene) of Valdosta, Jessie Collins of Florida and Jimmy Ruger (Alicia) of Blackshear; his siblings, Della Mae Lewis of Douglas, Martha Barber (Terry) of Sparks, GA and Billy Collins (Jenelle) of Waycross; and his grandchildren, Rachelle Thigpen (Jody), Barry Dasher (Shelby), Mandy Beverly (Eddie), Megan Ruger (Josh Nix), Jake Herrin, Alle Ruger, Austin Pittman, Summer Fussell (Blake), Stephanie Collins and Jonathan Collins (Cassidy). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.
