He was predeceased by: his parents, George Bluford Purgason and Beatrice Haynes Purgason; and his siblings, Carolyn Brown, Jimmy Purgason, Robby Purgason and James Purgason.
He is survived by: his wife Mattie Purgason of Hogansville; his children, Annette Barnett of Hogansville, Donald Purgason of Hogansville and Tina Moore-Purgason of Hogansville; his siblings, Sally Kee of LaGrange and George; his sister-in-law Joann Purgason of Hogansville; and his close friends, Rodney Janney and Donnie Kee. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home (208 Johnson St, Hogansville, GA 30230). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
