He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Hampson and Roberta Brinkley Hampson; his daughters, Kathleen "Dodie" Hampson and Colleen Smith; his brother Ron Hampson; and his brothers-in-law, Donnie Williamson and Larry Williamson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Williamson Hampson of Hogansville; his children, Richard Hampson of Franklin, Diane Knight of Roanoke, AL, Joey Turner (Wendy) of LaGrange and Greg Turner of Hogansville; and his sister Georgia Dykhuis of Des Moines, IA.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
