Though Betty may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betty touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pledger Ellis and Lena Trotter Shubert; and her husband Jerry Wayne Brookshire. She is survived by: her children, Sheilena Durbin of Lilburn and T. J. Brookshire of Homer; and her sister Dixie Merck.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Little-Ward Funeral Home (115 State St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Banks Memorial Gardens.
