He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Franklin Cason, Sr. and Edna Grisham Cason; and his son-in-law Eric Waterfield. He is survived by : his wife Patsy Corbitt Cason of Homerville; his daughters, Kristie C. Waterfield of Springfield, GA and Shannon (Mikey McCoy); his grandchildren, Olivia, Maddux Waterfield, Mikah, Griffin and Cason McCoy; his sister JoAnn; his brother-in-law Herbert Tomlinson of Homerville; his niece Natalie (Dave Vondersmith); his great-niece Julia; his grandchild Parker Armstrong; his nephew Clay (Emily Tomlinson); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Noah and Carly Tomlinson.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 20th 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Homerville United Methodist Church (202 S Church St, Homerville, GA 31634). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 21st 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
