With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Steedley Douglas (Homerville, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 3, 2026 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her father Jesse James Steedley (Minda Steedley); her husband Elroy Douglas; her mother Minda Steedley; her stepmother Edna Fullwood Steedley; and her siblings, Juanell Mattox, Lola Mae Lee, Iris Smith, Dartha Guess, Sarah Griffin, Jeraldine Chapman, Ransom Steedley and James Earl Steedley.
She is survived by: her son James E. "Jimmy"; her daughter-in-law Judy Douglas of Homerville; her daughters, Minda (Terry McCants) and JaNice (Ric Holmes); her grandchildren, Jill, Jed, Jonathan and Jay; her great grandchildren, Caroline, Catherine, Jude, Frank, Philip, Aidan, Micah, Ellie, Olivia and Isaac; her brother Jesse Reavis; her sister-in-law Deby Steedley of Homerville; her sister Robin Jewell of Homerville; and her friends, Sandra Kelsaw, Sybil Guess, JoAnn Lacey, Patti Herrin, Lanora Rouse and Elva Lee Dickerson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
