He was predeceased by: his parents, David Cunningham and Nancy Elmore Cunningham; his wife Irene Smith Cunningham; his children, Kathy Cunningham Finch and John H. "Bunky" Cunningham, Jr.; his brothers, Cecil Cunningham and James Cunningham; and his grandchildren, Natasha Cunningham and Bobby Cunningham.
He is survived by: his daughter Robin Cunningham; his granddaughter Latisha Finch; and his siblings, Sara Wilson (Toby) of Dothan, AL and Lonnie Cunningham. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
