He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Powell and Evelyn K. Martin; his wife Linda Sue Powell; and his brothers, Tim Powell and Roger Martin.
He is survived by: his children, John Powell, Jr. (Paula) of Homerville, Tim William Powell (Danielle) of Homerville, Teresa Warren (Ben) of Nashville and Amy Knight (Robert) of Homerville; his grandchildren, Keiresten Thomas (William), Little John Powell, Shannon Powell, Josh Delk, Jaimie Delk, Ryan Palmer and Caiden Fender; and his siblings, Flint Powell of Nashville and Betsy Pervis (Michael) of Nashville. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Refuge Church (61 S Oak St, Lakeland, GA 31635).
