It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel Banks Sr. of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on May 8, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Columbus and Magdalene Marsingill Banks; his wife Susie Culberson Banks; his siblings, Rev. Howard Banks, Horace Banks and Willene Williams; and his grandson Danny Vaughn.
He is survived by: his children, Joel C. Banks of Athens, Jerry Banks (Jean) of Hoschton and Connie Vaughn (Danny Sr.) of Hoschton; and his grandchildren, Jerry Banks (Amanda), Sabrina Vaughn, Scarlett Hart (Michael), Jenna Banks (Rick Coffey) and Shala Vasquez (Jorge). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mr. Banks to the Center Pointe Church Children's Program at 7641 Jackson Trail Road Hoschton, Georgia 30548.
