As we bid Carrie Mae farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. She is survived by: her daughter Jacqueline Roach (Jackie); her sons-in-law, Fredrick Roach of Hull, GA and Harrison Dowdy (Patricia) of Athens, GA; her nephew Darrin Dowdy (Blake Odom); her siblings, Willie Sue Brown and Daniel Carruth; and her cousins, Griffiths, Powers, Wilsons and Chestnut Grove. She is also survived by sisters and brothers; and so many compassionate caregivers.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jackson-Mc Whorter Funeral Home (1253 W Broad St, Athens, GA 30606). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Colbert Grove Baptist Church (1119 Colbert Grove Church Rd, Colbert, GA 30628).
