She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer Payne; her parents, Frank Warren and Emma Chrisley Thomas; her son Steve Whitehead; and her siblings, Johnny Warren, Dave Warren, Daniel Warren and Daisy Murphy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shirley Johnson and Peggy Hunt. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at the Evergreen Memorial Park (3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606).
