He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Nelson and Emma Dean Nelson; and his wife Frances Nelson. He is survived by: his daughters, Gwen (Bennie Gibson), Kim Nelson, Pat (David Jones) and Paige Holmes; his grandchildren, Carl Gibson, Ben Gibson, Josiah Jones, Paul Jones, Sarah Jones, Stephen Jones, Rachel Holmes, Hunter Holmes, Layton Holmes and Aubrey Holmes; his sister Mary Walker; and his sister-in-law Joyce Jolley. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
