She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Dorsey Compton and Willie Mae Taylor Compton; her husband William Thomas Medley; her former husband Jay Spivey; and her siblings, William Weyman Compton and Anne Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Stanley Spivey (Anne), Janet Paulk (Jeff) and Lynn Medley; her grandchildren, Brooke (Jonny) of Jong, Leigh Anne Cook (Tim), Colt Spivey (Laynie), William Paulk (Meghan), Benjamin Paulk (Nicole) and Baxter Sewall; her great grandchildren, Micah Cook, McKayla Anne Lenderman, Ivey Jane of Jong and Katie Anne Spivey; and her sisters, Evelyn Cowart (Bill), Jennie Sturgis (Tom) and Jo Harrison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stark Methodist Church (1097 Halls Bridge Rd, Jackson, GA 30233). A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
