She was predeceased by: her close friend Terry Giddens; her parents, Edward Lee Padgett and Omie Oneita Gay Padgett; and her husband Jack "Carlton" Bowen. She is survived by: her son James; her daughter-in-law Cindy Bowen of Helena; her sisters, Christine Gay (Harry) of Garfield and Omie Scott of Fitzgerald; her grandchildren, Tyler, Ginny Bowen of Columbus, OH and Lindsey Bowen of Athens; and her great grandchildren, William Bowen and Cora Claire Bowen. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Vaughn Funeral Home (107 E Oak St, McRae-Helena, GA 31055). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Holiness Church (4878 US-441, Jacksonville, GA 31544).
