She is survived by: her husband Melvin Hughes; her children, Mitchell (Rachel Pettigrew), Kamotse (Jobi Pettigrew) and Denesia; her son-in-law Richard Weldy; and her stepchildren, Doyle, Connie Hughes, Vivian, Robert Jones, John, Missy Hughes and Melissa Hughes. She is also survived by her 23 grandchildren, 41 great‑grandchildren, and 3 great‑great‑grandchildren.
