He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Powell and Annie Bell Powell; and his son Jimmy Powell. He is survived by: his wife Edna Powell of Jasper; his daughters, Sherry Payton of Ellijay and Shannon Poag (Richard) of Florida; his grandchildren, Andrea Arnold (Robie) of Ellijay, Brian Poag (Whitney) of Jasper and Brittany Riddle (Alexander) of Hawaii; and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Wall, Ella Wall, Elijah Arnold, Hattie Poag, Brinlee Poag, Jenson Poag and Georgia Riddle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Roper Funeral Home and Crematory (206 Holly St, Jasper, GA 30143).
