He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Garrett and Ruby Feagan Garrett; and his brother Buddy Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Karen Blackwell Garrett; his children, C. J. Durham (Paige) and Haley Winn; his granddaughter Ivey Durham; his siblings, Jeff Garrett (Shelia), Johnny Garrett (Ashley), William Nelson (Teresa), Connie Hutson and Diane Cook; his stepmother Diane Nelson; his mother-in-law Eva Blackwell; his siblings-in-law, Shane Blackwell (Daniel Brown) and Angie Simmons (Gary); and his great-nephew Matthew Padgett. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
