The memory of Hazel Ozell Townsend of Jasper, Georgia, who passed away on June 27, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay West and Clomia Long West; her husband J. A. Townsend; her siblings, Troy West, Jewell West and Lois West Miller; and her siblings-in-law, Geneva West, Brenda West and Ralph Pinyan.
She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Hope Townsend of Talking Rock; her siblings, Raymond West of Fairmount, Ester Pinyan of Fairmount and Gene; and her siblings-in-law, Judy West of White, Jean Hall of Ranger and Herbert Miller of Ranger.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church (251 Pinhook Rd, Ranger, GA 30734). A burial will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at the same location.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
