He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernie Richards and Katie Richards; his son Jackie Richards; his siblings, Lucile O'Shields, Bessie Hamby and Willie Richards; and his nephews, Wesley Jordan and Anthony Plumley.
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Richards of Jasper; his sons, James Richards of Ellijay, Tim Turner of Jasper and Kip Turner of Jasper; his siblings-in-law, Sue and Donnie Plumley of Jasper; his grandchildren, Dustin Richards, Casey Richards, Jacquline Highfield, Allie Turner, Dakota Turner and Khole Turner; and his sibling's children, Chris Plumley and Karen Jordan. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
