We are sad to announce that on September 29, 2022, at the age of 87, John Abernathy Jr. of Jasper, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Abernathy and Kate Abernathy; and his siblings, Nita Bell Stancil, Willene Sheffield, Flora Setser, Charlie Abernathy, Grady Abernathy, Lawrence Abernathy, Richard Abernathy and Sammy Abernathy.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Abernathy; his children, Ann (Gene Crowe), Gene (Joanne Abernathy), Eddie (Dianne Abernathy), Ricky (Andrea Abernathy) and Timmy (Wanda Abernathy); and his stepchildren, Francis (Frank Shelton), Patsy Pendley, John (Cruz Pendley) and Ronny Pendley. He is also survived by Grandchildren - 14 Great Grand Children - 24 Great Great Grandchildren - 4 Step-Grandchildren - 17 Step-Great Grandchildren.
