He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lloyd and Erma Dale Payne; his brother Tony Payne; and his brother-in-law Bill Benson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Payne; his sons, Scott (Trisha Payne), Mike (Andrea Payne) and Todd (Sherry Payne); his grandchildren, Brent (Corina), Greg (Brittany), Megan (Daniel), Andy, Bailey (Hunter), Ty and Luke; his great grandchildren, Covey, Calla, Nova, Hartley, Lillie, Arthur and Hudson; his sister Patsy Payne Benson; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Payne, Jerrie Dean and Rick Bruce (Kay). He is also survived by his wife, friends, and family, especially his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 171 Bass Drive, Jasper, GA 30143.
