He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Waechter and Margaret Waechter. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne S. Waechter of Jasper; his son Bobby; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Waechter of Nashville, Tennessee; his daughter Brandi; his son-in-law John Thomas of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his daughter Bethany Gessman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his sister-in-law Diana Gehring of Canton, Georgia; and his pets, Rosco Rabbit and Cleopatra. He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
