He is survived by: his wife Nancy Funderburk Hammer; his son Jason William Hammer (Dana Dayagi Hammer); his grandchildren, Frances Louise Hammer and William Stephen Hammer; and his sister Martha Ann Hammer Aikman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
