It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Mae Slater of Jefferson, Georgia, born in Commerce, Georgia, who passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, James Slater and Ruth Elrod Slater; her husband Larry Whisnant; and her sister Cherry Stiwinter. She is survived by : her sons, Bo Whisnant (Tammy) of Statham, GA and Skeeter Whisnant (Laura) of Jefferson, GA.; her granddaughters, Ladonna Thomas (James) of Statham, GA and Tiffany Bryant (Joshua) of Statham, GA.; her great grandchild Lainey Bryant; and her sisters, Diane McIntyre of Athens, GA, Brenda Getter of Nicholson, GA and Barbara Morgan of Colbert, GA..
