She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick McSwain McConnell and Vivian Hamilton McConnell; her husband Dan Kirkland Gunnels; and her son John Austin Gunnels. She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Kirkland "Tommy" Gunnels of Jefferson, GA and Crawford McSwain "Mac" Gunnels (Dawn Gunnels) of Wake Forest; and her grandchildren, Brantley McSwain Gunnels and Vivian Caroline Gunnels Pittard (Jordan Pittard).
