He was predeceased by: his son Dr. Brian Swafford; his parents, J. R. Swafford and Bertha Faye Christopher Swafford; and his sister Brenda Joyce Bagley. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Patterson Swafford of Jefferson; and his children, Melissa Youngblood (Robby) of Auburn, Mike Swafford (Noel) of Jefferson and Doug Swafford (Jennifer) of Hoschton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
