He is survived by: his family Jimmy; his wife Marilyn Chatham Barrett; his children, Kathryn and John; his brother Wayne Barrett; and his grandchildren, Amanda Webb, Holly Navarre, Alex Umstead, Nick Umstead, Katelyn Umstead, Kristy Pritchett and John Barrett, Jr.. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
