He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Harris Brooks and Lillian Gillespie Brooks Thompson; and his siblings, Ray Brooks, Linder Smith, Lloyd Brooks, Willie Brooks, Lois Looney and Lilly Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Meeler Brooks; his children, Barry Brooks (Cyndi), Craig Brooks (Tiffany), Kent Brooks and Misty Jeans (Shane); and his grandchildren, Connor Jeans, Grace Brooks, Caleb Brooks (Neeley) and Dustin McClain (Ashlea). He is also survived by four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (1350 Winder Hwy, Jefferson, GA 30549). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery (3650 GA-124, Jefferson, GA 30549).
