Betty Stanfield Murphy Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Stanfield Murphy of Jesup, Georgia, who passed away on December 27, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Robert W. "Buck" Murphy; her parents, Rufus Stanfield and Louise Stanfield; her brothers, Cameron, Parnell, Dwight and Wayne Stanfield; and her son-in-law Charles Brannen.

She is survived by: her children, Elaine Brannen of Jesup, Betty Nichols (Alice) of Jesup, Merrie Kennedy (Don) of Jesup, Murphy, Ellen Smith (Larry) and Katie Orrel (Wally); her grandchildren, Leigh Brannen, Tripp Kennedy (Katie), Kort Kennedy (Emma Kirk) and Kane Kennedy; her great grandchild Kashton Kennedy; and her brothers, Phillip Stanfield (Cynthia) of Screven and Larry Stanfield (Mary) of Screven. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
