He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Walter Hubbs and Elsie Hubbs; his siblings, Roy Hubbs, Rev. Laman Hubbs and Shirley Calhoun (Clyde); and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Hubbs and Zollie Bowling.
He is survived by: his wife Viola Woods Hubbs of Jesup; his children, Jennifer Johnson (James) of Jesup and David, Jr. Hubbs (Shannon) of Jesup; his grandchildren, Anthony Johnson, Maycee Pushee (Tim), Elsie Reddish (Walker), Gracie Horne (Aaron) and Ashley Johnson; his great grandchildren, Tatum, Felix, Hattie, Amelia, Ezra and Dex; and his siblings, Grady Hubbs (Betty), Dennis Hubbs (Charlette), Tommy Hubbs (Joyce), Rev. Paul Hubbs (Fonda), Orville Hubbs, Roger Hubbs (Star) and Brenda Bowling. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cross Roads Church of God. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Crossroads Church of God (2949 Lanes Bridge Rd, Jesup, GA 31545).
