He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Smith and J. B. Smith; and his sister Lynn Carter. He is survived by: his wife Susan House Smith of Jesup; his children, James B. Smith (Jessica) of Eulonia, Jolenda Cloer (David) of Midway, Georgia and Sharon Smith of Phoenix; and his brother Tommy Smith (Ginger) of Jesup.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Altamaha Baptist Church (6622 Oglethorpe Rd, Jesup, GA 31545). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
