It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Johnson Burkhalter of Jesup, Georgia, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Ruth leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her husband Herman Brett Burkhalter. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Brett Burkhalter of Jesup and Eric Scott Burkhalter of Jesup; her grandsons, Jacob and Jordan Burkhalter; and her siblings, Howard Johnson (Patsy) of Augusta and Melba Gest of Jesup.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery (3357 Lanes Bridge Rd, Jesup, GA 31545).
