William Hayes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 14, 2026, at the age of 96, William Hayes of Jesup, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, William is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that William's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his wife Johnnie Eleanor Hodge Hayes. He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Hayes Stephens Matuse (Jimmy) of Blackshear; and his granddaughters, Lauren Stephens of Brunswick and Rachel Stephens of Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jesup First United Methodist Church, 205 E. Cherry Street, Jesup, GA 31546.
